Saturday August 11th, was all for the kids of the city of Watts in Los Angeles. We once again joined with the Red Eye Inc. organization and a few other companies to show some love to the future of tomorrow at the Watts Empowerment Center. That's right! This one was dedicated completely to the kids.
This event was based on back to school. Each child from the Watts area was gifted a backpack full of goodies to help get them through the school year that was coming up. Cottonhood apparel donated over 150 hooded sweatshirts for the upcoming Fall and Winter months. No kid should ever be left behind without a new backpack for the new school year let alone the simple things like pencils, paper, pens, and art supplies.
So many people came together to make this event not only fun but to show that we all care about the future of tomorrow. Getting simple things like a backpack filled with the tools to get a child through a school year should never be overlooked. These kind of tools that some can take for granted can give a child the confidence to return to school. Especially in this day in age where bullying and social media can affect a child tremendously.
We want to thank our friends over at the Red Eye Organization for letting us be part of this special day filled with love and the essentials for a child to return back to school this upcoming school year.
